Every volunteer at the school that will be working directly with children will need to complete the Safe Volunteer Requirements.  This is all conducted on VIRTUS.org. 

​You will also need to complete a background check.  The fee to do this is $10.00.

How To Log Your Service Hours

How to log hours on your FACTS Account on the Web: 
  1. Log into the FACTS family portal using your log in and password word you created. Our school code is SMDK-IL. If you forgot your username or password you may need to reset it. https://factsmgt.com/login/ and click on “Family Portal Login”​
  2. The school district code is SMDK-IL. Click “Next” after entering the code.
  3. Enter your user name and password and then click “Log in”.  If you forgot your username or password you may need to reset it.
  4. Once in the family portal, navigate to “Family Home” in the left hand menu and choose your name from the drop down in the center of the page.
  5. Once your account is chosen, click on “ADD +” in the center of the page in the Service Hours column.
  6. Once clicked you will see a form appear. Answer the following questions. 
    1. Date should be the date you volunteered
    2. Please add how many hours (round to the nearest 30 mins)
    3. For Description choose from the drop down or write in your own by clicking on [enter a custom value]
    4. If you are logging hours for a friend or relative that volunteered but does not have a FACTS account, use the note section to add the name of the volunteer. 
    5. Please leave the “verified by” field blank. 
    6. Save Service Hours when done​​
How to log hours on your FACTS mobile app: 
  1. Log into the FACTS family portal using your log in and password word you created. Our school code is SMDK-IL. If you forgot your username or password you may need to reset it.
  2. Once in the FACTS Family Portal App, scroll down to “Family”​
  3. It should default on your name since it’s your account. However if it doesn’t, just pull the arrow down in the name box and select your name.  Then, click on “Add Service Hours.” If you are logging hours for a relative or friend that doesn’t have a FACTS account, you will note that later. 
  4. Click the add + in the Service Hours section
  5. Once clicked you will see a form appear. Answer the following questions. 
    1. Date should be the date you volunteered
    2. Please add how many hours (round to the nearest 30 mins)
    3. For Description choose from the drop down or write in your own by clicking on [Type a custom value]
    4. If you are logging hours for a friend or relative that volunteered but does not have a FACTS account, use the note section to add the name of the volunteer. 
    5. Please leave the “verified by” field blank.
    6. Save Service Hours When done

Your service hours should appear once saved. You can edit using the pencil tool if needed.

Thank you for supporting our students and school!

All currently enrolled families are required to have 16 hours of volunteering each school year.
Please use the volunteer tracking form by clicking the above link. You are responsible for tracking your hours digitally.

Hours can be earned by attending committee meetings, helping at school events/fundraisers, working sporting events (score book, admission, concessions, etc.), helping in the lunchroom, classroom help at a teacher’s request, jobs around the school, and at home help like newsletter envelope  stamping and stuffing, washing alter server robes, etc.

 The school office will send out communications 2 times per year to track what hours you’ve submitted. Any family not meeting the requirement of hours will be charged $40.00 per hour not worked at the end of the school year.  This will be applied to your tuition bill through FACTS.  Families can donate hours to other families if the need arises due to illness or other unforeseen events/reasons.  This is in place to help support our mission and vision. 

Each family has the opportunity to pre-pay and opt out of volunteer hours. This is a $640 fee when registering your students for a new school year in FACTS.
